Residents of Ijere, Pakuro, Magbon, and several other communities in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State have voiced their frustration over the appalling state of the roads connecting their communities.
Despite their efforts to maintain the roads through contributions and tolls, the condition has continued to deteriorate, causing significant challenges for over nine years.
Jimoh Owolabi, Chairman of the Community Development Committee, stated that the residents contribute millions annually to repair the roads, but their efforts have not yielded the desired results. He emphasized the urgent need for government assistance to address the infrastructure deficit.
