The Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria has assured to build affordable homes for Nigerians despite the economic lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic. REDAN National President, Aliyu Oroji Wamako, gave the assurance in his Easter message to Nigerians yesterday.
“We will continue to ensure that the housing sector remain safe from the aftermath effect of the lockdown by recommending pragmatic solutions to the government and major players in the real estate sector to reduce the housing deficit in the country,” he said. He said REDAN has stepped up awareness campaigns across the nation to sensitise construction workers and developers alike on how to prevent the spread of the virus at construction sites and within their households.
Wamako enjoined REDAN members to remain committed to its mission of affordable housing for all, just as he reminded them to be committed to the ideals of the association.
He called on Nigerians to intensify prayers against the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the world, saying that Easter was a period for prayers for the nation’s prosperity, peace and unity. “As we join our Christian brothers and sisters on the occasion of Easter celebration, we should not forget to pray for our dear nation at this critical moment of COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to economic lockdown,” he said.
