The biggest housing event in Africa, Abuja International Housing Show is happening again in 2020 promising to deliver greater impact than previous years. Aptly themed, Housing Finance Innovations for 2020 and Beyond: Sustainable Systems for Cities, the event is set to converge stakeholders and decision makers across the built industry value chain from the 21st – 25th July, 2020, who will be sharing knowledge and ideas on the subject matter.
With government at all levels grappling with insufficient financing to meet commitments to the people especially in the provision of the most basic social amenities such as infrastructure and housing especially with the ever widening housing deficit with this demand felt across states, the participation of the executives, leaders and decision makers in housing in all states within Nigeria is of utmost importance at this showcase for the following reasons;
– Foreign Housing Ministers: International Government Guest Speakers are billed to attend the Abuja International Housing Show. This includes the Ministers of Housing in Rwanda and Morocco, leaders who oversee some of the most successful and innovative affordable housing projects in Africa today.
These leaders are set to expound their knowledge with attendees as they face challenges of financing like most African nations which largely limits the delivery of critical housing and infrastructure to the populace but are able to bring much needed affordability in pricing and economic value, two things we need to move forward as a nation in housing delivery for all.
– The Government: The Nigerian Government, as stakeholders of the Abuja International Housing Show for the past 14 years, will make full showing at the event with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in attendance as Special Guest of Honour, with the Minister of the FCT, Muhammad Musa Bello and as Chief Host, Minister for Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, and the National Assembly committees on Housing who have made their interest known in providing the necessary support for the policy improvements which can transform the future of housing in Nigeria which has been riddled by a wide array of challenges.
– Affordable Housing: As the biggest platform on affordable housing advocacy in Nigeria, the Abuja International Housing Show is convening stakeholders, players and innovators focused on affordable housing to enable knowledge sharing through demonstrations and discussions in order to power housing provision in states across Nigeria.
In line with discussions at past AIHS events, geared towards the utilisation of local materials within states to foster housing that are sensitive to terrain, weather and affordability of dwellers across its cities, towns and villages, leaders will find expositions quite enlightening and beneficial to housing delivery in their collective states.
Housing Finance: Without doubt, housing finance has posed a major obstacle to the mass delivery of housing by state governments. Hence, the Abuja International Housing Show is gathering experts in housing finance innovations as well as providing room for collaborations and network building in accessing finance for the funding of government to people affordable housing. These innovations will be delivered across formidable keynote speeches and plenary sessions by some of the biggest international and local players in the housing finance sector.
Professional Network: The show has over the years proven to be the melting pot of professionals and executives in housing and this year will not be different as all professional bodies within the real estate and construction sector will be represented, building on potential for ideas and innovation sharing and cross sector collaborations between professionals and executives from different states of the federation.
Manufacturers: A wide range of international and indigenous manufacturers and producers will be on ground to showcase innovative products at discounted rates for bulk developers such as state governments, and this will serve as an opportunity to partner with manufacturers from China, India, Turkey, United States of America, Canada, Italy etc.
Exhibition: The show offers extensive exhibition opportunities for discerning developers and is a platform for state governments to showcase their housing innovations and projects to the right audience for adoption and recognition.
Partnerships: The Abuja International Housing Show boosts networking between private and public sector leaders for partnerships and collaborations and is set to again achieve this mandate.
Leaders in charge of housing in various states are therefore enjoined to attend the Abuja International Housing Show 2020 to boost prospects for housing delivery for people at all levels within its communities and cities.
