The Abuja International Housing Show, currently known as the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), has established itself as Africa’s largest housing and construction Expo. The countdown to the 16th edition of the event has begun, with only 12 days remaining.
As the event draws near, participants have been directed to secure their access pass on the mobile app ‘AIHS CONNECT’ recently launched by the organizer of the event to ease accessibility and participation of all attendees.
According to the AIHS Media Secretary, Folorunsho Adegoke, who spoke in Abuja on Wednesday, the new development became necessary considering the nature of the event which is regarded as the largest populated in Africa with over 15,000 participants coming from different parts of the world.
“We have launched a mobile app to ease access to the event venue as well as interaction with participants, speakers, and exhibitors that will be participating in this year’s event. To this end, our mobile app ‘AIHS CONNECT’ is now available on Apple and Google stores for attendees to download and register prior to the annual event”, he said.
Speaking further, Adegoke noted that the need for all participants to register can not be overemphasized, “considering the high priority we place on security and safety, premised on the current security realities in the country.”
Speaking on the procedures to get the access pass on the mobile app, he said, “all participant are expected to:
1. DOWNLOAD the AIHS CONNECT App on Apple or Google store
2. LAUNCH the Mobile App to gain access to the registration page
3. Click on the REGISTRATION BUTTON to register
4. After registering, click on the ACCESS PASS BUTTON under menu options
5. Also, register on the ACCESS PASS PAGE
On completion of the registration phase, Adegoke said participants’ barcodes for access into the event venue would be sent to their email address.
“On getting to the event, you can use your barcode to get your access pass after being scanned at the registration stand without any delay”, he added.
At least 34 speakers from different parts of the world will be featured at the 16th edition of the event, which is anticipated to draw over 15,000 attendees from over 15 different nations.
Additionally, with the expectation that others will follow suit, over 350 exhibitors have already registered for the event.
Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, the Vice president, is expected to declare the event open, while Babatunde Fashola, the minister of works and housing, will be the main host.
