The Ondo State Government and the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a solar company – the Beebeejump Solar Company, to enable regular availability of electricity through solar power systems in homes and offices of the state civil servants.
It was gathered that the agreement entailed the company would be supplying solar energy to homes and offices of civil servants across the 18 local government areas of the state.
The tripartite agreement was signed on behalf of the government by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, and the representatives of the NLC and that of the solar company. The agreement was facilitated by another technology firm – Lejorta Solutions Limited.
At the signing of the MoU, the SSG, Princess Odu, said the project would make work much easier for the civil servants and would particularly boost the productivity of the workers in their respective offices.
While commending the companies, Odu urged the firm “to stick to the terms of the agreement as stipulated in the signed document.”
In a remark, the facilitator, Lejorta Solutions Ltd, said the MoU was intended to, among other things, get durable and affordable renewable energy through BeebeeJump Solar Products into the homes and offices of numerous civil servants across the state.
According to the chairman of the firm, Mr. Saviour Udoh, the company is one of the leading technology, solar solutions, and services companies operating in Nigeria.
He said, “Over the years, we have grown from a young organisation providing supplies and deliveries of technology equipment, solar home systems, and mini-grid to state governments, corporate organisations, and other end users.
“We will work hand-in-hand with the NLC, and the Ondo State Power Company to get what the civil servants want and come up with suitable and convenient time frame payment.”
