The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Mr. Bashir Ojulari, has reiterated his commitment to driving performance in the oil and gas sector through strategic partnerships with key government stakeholders.
During a courtesy visit to the Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, in Abuja on Wednesday, Ojulari emphasized the importance of unified efforts and cross-sector collaboration to achieve tangible progress in the energy sector.
According to a statement by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., Ojulari stressed that his leadership team entered office with a clear vision focused on reform and impact, grounded in collaboration.
“Our administration is driven by a deep sense of purpose and collective engagement. To truly move the needle, we must partner seamlessly with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Ministry of Finance, and other key institutions to dismantle bureaucratic hurdles and fast-track meaningful outcomes,” he said.

He further noted that adversarial approaches only slow progress and that strategic alignment is essential for sustained success. “We are here to collaborate, not compete. Only through unity can we deliver the transformative changes Nigerians expect,” he added.
In his response, Minister Lokpobiri expressed optimism about the new NNPC leadership and its potential. He noted that he personally knows several members of the executive team and is confident in their capabilities, describing the current team as perhaps the strongest in NNPC’s history.
“This is a team of proven professionals. The real task now is to turn that expertise into tangible results—especially in ramping up crude oil output and maximizing value for the Nigerian people,” Lokpobiri said.
He pledged full support from his office, promising strategic backing to help NNPC navigate challenges and deliver on its national mandate.
“This moment marks the beginning of a revitalized partnership in the energy sector, one rooted in shared goals, operational efficiency, and national development,” the minister concluded.
