Jamiu Akande Omoniyi has been appointed Commissioner of Housing in Ogun state.
Before his appointment, he served as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Ogun State on Housing from 12th July, 2019. Furthermore, he was appointed Member of the Board of Directors, Gateway Mortgage Bank in November, 2019.
Omoniyi started working as an Account Clerk with Berger Paints Nigeria Plc, which was from 1994 to October 2000. He rose to the position of a Credit Controller, an Executive Management position with responsibility for creating and managing the company’s credit functions.
He resigned honourably from Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc in April 2009 to float his business conglomerate C2Q Holding, a company which has grown in leaps and bounds to the present stage of over N25b yearly turnover.
He Graduated from Ondo State Polytechnic (Now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic) with Distinction in Accountancy at Higher National Diploma level. Akande went on to qualify as an Accounting Technician in 1995 and became Chartered Accountant in 1999. In 1998 he became Chartered Credit Manager& Administrator.
The sterling qualities of Akande Omoniyi earned him Chieftancy titles of Jagunmolu of Jogaland Mayegun of Igan Okoto and recently, Tayese of Iwoye Ketuland. He is a recipient of numerous recognition and awards both home and abroad.
He is a financial and faculty member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), an Executive Committee member of Real Estate Developers of Nigeria and the Institute of Directors. Also, he is a certified member of The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Before his appointment, he was a leading real estate practitioner in Nigeria having built many houses in about 4 estates in Abuja.
