The programme with the theme: “Physical Planning and Urban Security In Nigeria: Issues, Challenges, And Prospects” will feature town planners, political actors, lawmakers, and professionals across various fields to discuss pressing issues related to the built and construction industry.
Atebije noted that it’s important to let Nigerians know that physical planning is directly related to security, adding that with the increasing population rate in the country, there is an urgent need to effectively plan and manage the nation’s land space to avoid future disasters.
He was quoted as saying that “the demand for land continues to increase due to rising population. if we don’t plan and manage the lands, we’ll damage our future.”
Speaking further, he said: “I don’t want to belabour the issue of insecurity in this nation. We need to let people know that when physical planning is involved in the development of any society, it can accentuate the level of security in that environment.
This year’s edition is going to be a spectacular one. Unlike the previous years, we are going to have exhibitors, producers, manufacturers, and marketers of various products and services that are useful in the urban space.”
He said the institute looks forward to hosting over 5,000 participants in the programme.
Registration for the conference has begun as members and intending participants have been given the opportunity to register and make payment online with ease.
