The Federal Government’s agency saddled with the responsibility of coordinating and monitoring all investment promotion activities in the country, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has joined the list of exhibitors and firms that will showcase at the 16th Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) in July.
According to the coordinator of AIHS, Festus Adebayo, the agency will be showcasing investment opportunities for prospective investors from not less than 15 countries who will be participating in this year’s edition of the Africa’s largest housing and construction expo.
He was quoted as saying “the population of Nigeria makes it the best real estate plug and destination in the African continent.”
Speaking further, Adebayo revealed that members of the Abuja and Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry will also be participating at the event.
The NIPC was established by Nigerian Investment Promotion Act Chapter N117 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 to encourage, promote and co-ordinate investments in the Nigerian economy.
NIPC also performs the constitutional duties of Registering and keeping records of enterprises; Identify specific projects and invite interested investors for participation in those projects; Initiate, organize and participate in promotional activities such as exhibitions, conferences and seminars for the stimulation of investments; Maintain liaison between investors and Ministries, Government Departments and Agencies, institutional lenders and other authorities concerned with investments;
Others are Assist incoming and existing investors by providing support services; Evaluate the impact of the Commission in investments in Nigeria and make appropriate recommendations; and Advise the Federal Government on policy matters including fiscal measures designed to promote the industrialization of Nigeria or the general development of the economy.
NIPC will be using the AIHS platform to collect, collate, analyze and disseminate information about investment opportunities and sources of investment capital to both homebased and international investors.
