The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to boosting the housing stock and delivering more affordable housing options to its residents.
On Monday, the state’s Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, announced this in a statement issued by Ganiu Lawal, the Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Housing.
During a tour of the LagosHOMS housing project in Ajara, Badagry, Mr. Akinderu-Fatai highlighted the administration’s dedication to ensuring quality and affordable homes under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s leadership.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of construction, emphasizing that the LagosHOMS project exemplifies the government’s commitment. The project, which consists of 420 housing units in 35 blocks, is aimed at addressing the housing needs of the Lagos West Senatorial District.

The Commissioner also stressed the importance of adhering to high-quality building standards and meeting project deadlines. He instructed contractors to seek approval from the ministry’s technical team before using any materials, ensuring compliance with quality standards and preventing delays.
The LagosHOMS initiative is part of the state government’s broader effort to alleviate the housing deficit and provide affordable living solutions for its growing population.
