Jigawa State Government has joined the current bandwagon by states scrambling for social housing being promoted by Family Homes Funds.
In a bid not to be left out in the low-income houses, the state has provided land for the development of 8,000 housing units across four emirates in the state.
The state government has already provided title deeds to Family Homes Funds for the National Social Housing Programme (NSHP). The four emirates are Dutse, Ringin, Kazauri and Hadejia.
NSHP is a Federal Government’s response to the health and economic challenges of coronavirus. It is going to provide 300,000 homes and 1,800,000 jobs across the 36 states and Abuja, the federal capital territory.
The programme is catering mostly to Nigerians on low and middle income, and creating jobs which will help stimulate the economy and sustain millions of households.
Family Homes Funds has since developed the model houses which are priced from N2.00 million and above for NSHP in Dei Dei, Abuja and has signed partnership arrangement with a couple of states for the provision of lands.
