Niger State government has warned people against erecting structures along unauthorised places as it has commenced their removal along major roads and reservations areas commences in urban centres across the state.
This is as some irate youths on Tuesday allegedly attacked staff of Niger State Urban Development Board who were demolishing the illegal structures along major roads and streets within Minna metropolis.
It was gathered that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) serving as back-up security for the demolition team could not contain the irate youths as they came out in their numbers to frustrate the exercise.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defencr Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Nas Abdullahi, confirmed that the officials were attacked in some parts of Minna.
Acting General Manager, Niger State Urban Development Board (NSUDB), Muhammed Bawa, said the board had commenced the removal of illegal structures on right of ways which had been causing obstruction and defacing the cities.
