Africa’s Foremost Housing Development Advocacy group, the Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) has congratulated the Board, Management and Staff of Abbey Mortgage Bank as it marks its 30th anniversary.
The Executive Director of HDAN, Festus Adebayo in a statement noted that Abbey Mortgage Bank is a pioneer in the Nigeria mortgage sub-sector and that it has stayed in business for three decades despite the challenges enveloping the sub-sector and the country as a whole is very commendable and worth celebrating.
The Bank had for the first time in decades closed the year 2021 with a profit of N622.19m and a whooping N354.12m profit after tax in Q2 of this year and as a publicly traded company, Abbey Mortgage Bank is ranked 10th on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance.
Mr Adebayo also said praised the bank for its commitment to providing innovative solutions to mortgage, housing finance and investments in Nigeria which he believes has made it stand strong all through these decades.
“We wish to congratulate them for keeping the pace as a pioneer mortgage bank in Nigeria. It is common knowledge that the journey has not been an easy one that is why we want to congratulate them at 30 for sustainability”, he added.
While praising the bank for delivering premium and quality services to customers, the HDAN director urged the bank not to rest on its oars but charged them to remain focused and ensure that their maintain their level of professionalism which has made them achieve this enviable feat.
“I hope that one day, the Nigeria Mortgage sub-sector get to the level it truly should be”, he concluded.
