The founder of the One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has appealed to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to intervene in the persistent encroachment on his village’s land along the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway by individuals suspected to be land grabbers.
In a statement issued on Friday in Ibadan, the state capital, Maharaj described the situation as a significant threat to peace in the state and called for urgent action.
He said, “We want Your Excellency to use your authority to intervene swiftly and decisively to stop the incessant encroachment on our village along the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway.
“We also urge you to act promptly, as some security operatives appear to be aiding these disgruntled elements. Five of my devotees were recently arrested under dubious circumstances.
“This activity poses a serious threat to peace and tranquillity, especially during the state’s yuletide season.”
Maharaj Ji emphasised his commitment to peace, saying,
“We are for peace in Oyo State and Nigeria in general. In line with your administration’s efforts to make Oyo a true Pacesetter State in security and peaceful coexistence, we are also doing our part to ensure peace prevails in our neighbourhoods, the state, and the nation at large.
“We therefore call on Your Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to come to our aid and address the persistent encroachment on our village’s land by land grabbers.”
