Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum has allocated houses to 24 primary school teachers including a female teacher from Abia State who has been teaching in Borno state for 31 years.
The teacher’s quarters at Bulumkutu, along old Jos road, is one of the over 600 capital projects executed by the governor in his first tenure of office.
Borno state government allocated the fully furnished 24 units of the houses to primary school teachers from Maiduguri and Jere Local Education Authority (LEA) during a brief ceremony.
Lawan Abba Wakilbe, the Borno state Commissioner for Education, while handing over the houses to beneficiaries, stated that government has constructed similar edifices in Banki town in Bama local government area.
He also said Zulum’s administration will extend such projects to other local government areas in order to provide accommodation for hardworking teachers in the LGAs.
