The Africa Housing Awards, has nominated Yobe State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, as the Housing Friendly Governor of the year.
The Africa Housing Awards, is an annual event in recognition of individuals and organizations who have performed exceptionally well in housing during the year under review.
A letter of nomination for the award conveyed to Governor Buni said “We are pleased to inform you that you have been confirmed for the award of Housing Friendly Governor of the Year”.
The letter indicated that the Governor emerged as winner of the award following online voting on the portal of the organization and subsequent screeningby panel of judges .
“The Africa Housing Awards is an annual event that celebrates and promotes excellence in the housing and construction industry. It also recognises the success of firms, individuals and teams” the letter said.
The Buni administration in Yobe state constructed over 2,000 Housing units across the State, being the single largest housing intervention in the history of the over 40 year old state.
Similarly, Governor Buni while presenting the 2023 budget to the state House of assembly last month, announced a subsidy of 50 per cent to all beneficiaries of the houses.
Workers, Pensioners and other categories of beneficiaries had commended the Governor for the magnanimity and making them proud house owners.
The award is to be presented to His Excellency at an elaborate ceremony scheduled for 15th December 2022.
