While many Kenyans struggle to put food on the table, others are living luxurious lives.
The country boasts of some of the priciest and loveliest houses in the region that cost hundreds of millions.
TUKO.co.ke highlights some of the most expensive homes in Kenya and the wealthy people who own them.
1. Uhuru Kenyatta’s mansion along Statehouse Road, Nairobi In 2015, it was reported that President Uhuru Kenyatta demolished the house belonging to his father Jomo Kenyatta next to State House to pave the way for a stately residence.
Uhuru reportedly splurged KSh 700 million on the stately mansion that would feature bulletproof windows, among other high-security features. The construction site was secured by personnel from the General Service Unit and only authorised workers were allowed to access it. Former State House Manoah Esipisu confirmed the construction, saying it was being funded privately.
2. Mwai Kibaki’s Nyeri residence After retirement, Kenya’s third president Mwai Kibaki was gifted a mansion fit for a king in Mweiga, Nyeri County. The Sh400 million home in Mweiga stands on a 100-acre piece of land.

The house is guarded 24 hours by General Service Unit officers.
3. Evan Kidero’s Muthaiga mansion
The former Nairobi governor is a man of means and lives in a mansion befitting of his status. Kidero’s palatial home in Muthaiga features a unique design and a classy swimming pool. The house is estimated to be worth over KSh 200 million. E

4. Magnolia Hills Estate, Kitusuru
The last house on the list is located in Kitusuru and costs a whopping KSh 600 million. The house, a popular tourist attraction, boasts of water fountains, Jacuzzis and swimming pools. The mansion also features marble floors and exquisite furniture and finishing.
