FCT Town planners elect Lami Ayuba as new chairperson
The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Federal Capital Territory Chapter, yesterday at its Fourth Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja, elected a new chairperson, including other executive members.
The newly-elected chairperson, Mrs. Lami Ayuba pledged that her administration would focus more on public enlightenment.
“This newly-elected administration would focus more on public enlightenment, as we have observed that a majority of the people are oblivious of planning laws, she said.
“So, we need to work towards engaging the people on how not to go against the law in order to avoid the issue of demolition”.
Meanwhile, the chapter’s Chairman Emeritus, Mustapha Mugdiyu passed a vote of confidence on the new administration, adding that the newly-elected executives would carry on with and improve on the activities and progress of the former administration.
“We have confidence in the new administration, Mugdiyu said.
“Majority of them were part of the outgoing administration, and we are certain that they would build on the achievements of the former administration, especially on the issue of the FCT master plan”, he added.
