The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has delivered a stern warning to contractors responsible for projects in the nation’s capital, stating that they will be obligated to refund money for any substandard work executed.
Wike issued this caution during the flag-off ceremony for a road project in Paikon Kore Community, Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT, on Thursday.
The flagged-off road project is part of a comprehensive plan to construct 30 kilometers of roads across the six area councils in the FCT.
While assuring the availability of funds for the projects, the minister emphasized the need for diligence and high-quality work from contractors.
Wike asserted his intention to personally visit project sites to assess the quality and progress of the work.

Addressing the contractors, he declared, “I will not tell you when I will come here for supervision.
And let me tell you, I will not also depend on the report submitted by the Acting Director of STDD.
What I will depend on is what I have seen with my eyes. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that I will not come here.
I will come here and see what you are doing, and if you don’t do it well, you will pay back my money.”
