A Chartered land expert, Mr. Adedayo Adedoyin has frowned at the seeming abuse of power by some state Governors on the issuance of land titles.
As a result, he has urged the National Assembly to reconsider the power granted to state governors in assenting to title deeds in the constitution before they become legal documents as soon as possible.
According to him, the ‘enormous’ powers granted to state governors in the land use act have been abused over the years by “most, if not all, Governors to witch hunt perceived political opponents.”

As a result, he has urged the National Assembly to reconsider the power granted to state governors in assenting to title deeds in the constitution before they become legal documents as soon as possible.
According to him, the ‘enormous’ powers granted to state governors in the land use act have been abused over the years by “most, if not all, Governors to witch hunt perceived political opponents.”
He stated that reducing this power would allow for a more robust dispensation of application title deeds on land in the states.
