At the ongoing Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), organized in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, with the theme ” The Housing We Need” a yearly event where stakeholders in the housing industry convened to discuss solutions to housing challenges.
During the Dangote Day session, the National Sales Director of the Dangote Group, Funmi Sanni underscored the need for increased infrastructure to meet the demands of the country’s growing population. She emphasized that the current housing deficit of 28 million units necessitates urgent collaborative efforts from the government, private sector, and other stakeholders.

Sanni asserted that closing this gap requires substantial financing and a unified approach. She recommended heightened awareness of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) and its schemes to provide better access to housing finance, particularly for low and medium-income earners. Additionally, she advocated for the reconstruction of the FMBN’s functions, increased funding from government institutions, joint ventures and partnerships among developers, an improved tax credit system, and support for cement plans to reduce costs.
She said, the Dangote Group’s continuous participation in the AIHS reflects their conviction that the event contributes meaningfully to addressing housing challenges in Nigeria.

Ayodeji Aniki, Head of Technical Sales, unveiled various products from the Dangote brand, highlighting their commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation. He introduced four specific brands of Dangote cement tailored to different construction needs, emphasizing their eco-friendly properties to reduce CO2 emissions.
Aniki described Dangote 3X 42.5N as a general-purpose cement suitable for heavy and light construction, while Dangote 3X 42.5NR is designed for exports to African countries. The Dangote Falcon caters to both heavy and light load requirements, and Dangote Blockmaster is intended for concrete and heavy construction. He also announced the upcoming launch of a new product tailored to land salinity, and the Dangote 52.5R, specifically produced for railway line sleepers. Additionally, he mentioned the company’s involvement in soil testing and construction to ensure suitability for end users.
