The Chairman/CEO of Cosgrove Investment Limited, Umar Abdullahi has been conferred with the prestigious National Honour of the Officer of the Federal Republic, OFR, by the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr Abdullahi was honoured alongside 339 notable Nigerians, including a former secretary general of the Commonwealth, Emeka Anyaoku; 10 Supreme Court justices; Emir of Dutse Hamim Nuhu-Sanusi; EFCC chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa; CBN governor Godwin Emefiele; minister of Communication and Digital Economy Isah Pantami and his Aviation counterpart, Hadi Sirika and; the president’s nephew, Mamman Daura.
Mr Abdullahi was recognized for his trailblazing feats in Nigerian real estate sector, rapid growth and acceptability of his company as well as his commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.
By founding a brand that is continuously sustaining its pride in a global market, through innovation that is supported by continuous Research and Development, Cosgrove has won public confidence, such that demands for Cosgrove homes have scaled projection.
Efforts to respond to increase in demand of Cosgrove homes triggered an expansion that has led to over a thousand (1000) ongoing housing units across 15 projects sites within and around the FCT.
A man of highly inquisitive mind, his incursion into real estate development changed the sector and transformed investment, not only in real estate but along the entire real estate value chain.
In 2020, he held the sector spellbound when he unveiled startling features of the future ready Cosgrove Smart Estate, Wuye, the first of its kind in the FCT.
Mr Abdullahi comes with over two decades of varied experience in Real Estate Development, Investment, and Financial Services.
Notably, Mr Abdullahi served as the Managing Director of Brains & Hammers Ltd, a position he held for many years before his establishment of Cosgrove Investment Limited.
He directed the foundations for the company’s success and spearheaded the conceptualisation, development, construction, and management of a myriad of housing estates and gated communities in several locations. He is especially adept at managing complex projects and diverse teams.
The extensive experience from his corporate banking background as well as expertise in negotiations with a commitment to compliance and best practices has helped to propel growth and development of the Nigerian housing sector.
Meanwhile, Cosgrove’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Umar Abdullahi, has been included in Forbes Africa’s Undiscovered Series for Nigeria.
In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, Uri Onojake of GLG Communications, a consultancy firm, revealed the information.
He claimed that the hidden series was part of a select group of Nigerians who had played a key role in rebuilding and contributing to the country’s current growth story.
