The Board of Trustees, Bilaad Development Trust (BDT) has called for collaboration and partnership in creating an enabling environment for individuals to in education and entrepreneurship so as to reduce high levels of poverty and unemployment rates in the country.
Board Chairman, of Bilaad Development Trust (BDT) Usman Manko Babayitso during the official launch and fundraising dinner of Bilaad Development Trust (BDT) in Abuja noted that there’s a need to invest in education, which he described as the key that unlocks the door of opportunities.
” We must foster entrepreneurship and innovation. In a rapidly changing world, where new industries emerge and traditional ones evolve, it is imperative that we empower individuals to adapt, innovate, and create their own opportunities. By supporting aspiring entrepreneurs with mentorship, funding, and resources, we enable them to turn their ideas into reality and contribute to economic growth and social development.
” Furthermore, we must prioritize inclusivity and diversity. By embracing different perspectives, cultures, and backgrounds, we enrich our communities and unlock a vast array of untapped potential. Let us create spaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and heard. By breaking down barriers and promoting inclusivity, we create a fertile ground for excellence to flourish and failure to be transformed into valuable lessons.
While speaking, CHIEF BUSINESS & STRATEGY OFFICER ABDULLAHI IDRIS UMAR urged stakeholders, sponsors, and contributors to remain steadfast and continue in the good work of ensuring the company moves to greater heights.
Coordinating board member, Bilaad Development Trust (BDT) Sadiq Suleiman Abdullahi also added that the BDT is a call to social and development interventions.
Former Niger State Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu in a goodwill message applauded the efforts of the young generation, he urged them to not be tired, adding that corporate social responsibility is a must in every organization.
The hope is to bring as many homes out of poverty, give children education, and some homeless youth a chance to get back on their feet.
BDT aims at addressing brain drain and talent underutilization; reinvigorating entrepreneurial spaces leveraging on strategic linkages between entrepreneurs and the organized private sector; and providing platforms for cross-pollination of ideas, and policy influencing.
