The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has visited and inspected some areas in Ondo town recently affected by the flood, assuring the victims of state government support.

The visit to assess the damage and provide immediate intervention came after heavy rainfall that caused widespread flooding.

The Governor, who was briefed and conducted around the areas by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr Niyi Oseni, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Hon Olayemi Adeyemi, expressed his concern over the impact of the flood, particularly on vulnerable communities.

He reassured residents that his administration is committed to finding long-term solutions to prevent future occurrences.

“We are deeply concerned about the challenges these floods have caused, and we are already working to ensure that affected areas receive immediate relief and long-term solutions,” the Governor said.

Governor Aiyedatiwa assured the affected communities that his administration would prioritise rehabilitating flood-prone areas and intensify efforts to complete ongoing water channelisation projects.
