Beneficiaries of the AG Mortgage Bank affordable and livable housing scheme have received keys to their respective apartments.
The MD of AG Mortgage Bank, Mr. Ngozi Anyogu, appreciated the NSCDC for their foresight in investing in staff welfare. He mentioned that the affordable homes scheme of AG Mortgage Bank is well thought out and properly arranged to help every Nigerian become a homeowner.
He stated that the NSCDC is the third beneficiary of the scheme, after the CBN in Asaba and AG Mortgage staff members. He added that AG Mortgage Bank will reduce the equity requirement from 10% to 5% for NSCDC corps members willing to subscribe.
“AG Mortgage Bank is offering single-digit equity for subscribers. We are committed to providing livable and affordable housing for Nigerians.”
The high point of the event was the official handing over of keys to personnel by the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, who issued letters and keys to the beneficiaries of the AG Mortgage Bank affordable and livable housing scheme in Masaka. The scheme is a partnership between AG Mortgage Bank and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ahmed mentioned that this milestone is an effort to provide livable homes to members of the corps, especially those in the corps’ cooperative. He added that the houses will improve service delivery by reducing the pressure of yearly rent payments and quit notices among personnel, thereby enhancing effective service delivery.
“No personnel should retire without having a home of their own. We are committed to investing in staff welfare.”
Oluchi Stephani, one of the beneficiaries, stated that she is very happy and proud to become a homeowner.
“This is a dream come true for me. I am very happy to be part of this historic event. Thank you to all who made this possible.”
Asule John, a personnel of the corps, expressed happiness and mentioned that he is very happy to now become a homeowner.
“I was given a quit notice by my landlord, who sold his property without informing us and only sent us the letter. I am proud to become a homeowner and have a house of my own.”
