Following recent happenings in the Nigerian society which has seen young Nigerians even students engage in unethical behaviors including yahoo yahoo, armed robbery, kidnapping and more, Abuja International Housing Show (AIHS), the largest housing and construction show in Africa, has launched an all-students housing membership club to build next generation housing, real estate and mortgage leaders.
The initiative is an expansion of the organization’s housing development programme targeted at inculcating real estate entrepreneurial spirit among students.
The AIHS ‘Next Generation Real Estate Leader’s Club’ according to Festus Adebayo, the Chief Executive Officer of Fesadeb Group, organizers of AIHS, the initiative will serve as one of its social responsibility of not just reducing unemployment in the country but also empowering young Nigerians to be hardworking, independent and successful.
“The institution of the student membership club will enable us to bring real estate to the level of students who may want to develop a career in this area.” Adebayo added.
The youthful initiative would allow students studying Real Estate, Building and Construction, Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning among others to meet, interact and be mentored regularly by real estate personalities and companies as part of its effort in redefining the profession in the digital age.
The club will create a community of students from across tertiary institutions in Nigeria and abroad who are interested in real estate and are keen to support and contribute to its development.
AIHS said through a student fellowship, members while gaining knowledge and skills, would be exposed to the principles of real estate, secrets to owning their own homes, leadership and opportunities in the housing and construction sector.
Adebayo therefore enjoined Nigerian students, home and abroad, to avail themselves of the opportunity and to become members. He said AIHS will partner with select higher institutions and organizations in Nigeria to financially support this so that the contents and opportunities are free to all students.
Opportunities will include getting exclusive access to networking events with leaders in the housing and construction industry, job and internship opportunities, training and competitions.
