Dahiru Mangal was born in Katsina State to the family of Alhaji Barau Mangal. He grew up with his brother Alhaji Bashir Barau Mangal and others.
The billionaire businessman is also the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the AFDIN Group (Nig) Limited, comprising Mangal Airlines (now Max Airlines), AFDIN Football Club, AFDIN Construction Company Nigeria Ltd, Manasawa Oil, Mangal Oil, and Manasawa Enterprises, a clearing, and forwarding outfit.
He founded Max Air in 2008.
Mangal also owns a transport company and a security outfit with more than 2000 staff.
He also owns a rice mill – Darma Rice Mill, and a fertilizer company – Gobarau Agro Allied Company all located along Katsina – Dutsin-ma road.
