All is now set for 5th edition of the prestigious Nigeria Housing Awards(NHA), as it’s organizers the Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) declares open nominations for the different categories of the 2021 edition.
The award is scheduled to hold on December 8 at the International Conference Center (ICC) and is expected to be graced by high flying personalities in Nigeria’s real estate sector including top government officials and members of the legislature. Private sector participants will also be expected to grace the event as most of them will be recognized for their notable contributions to the growth and development of the housing and building sector of the nation’s economy.
While calling for nominations into the different categories of the NHA, Executive Director of HDAN. Barrister Festus Adebayo, said that the event will among other things throw up challenges encountered in housing development not just in Nigeria, but Africa as a whole, with the sole objective of deliberating with the best brains in the industry to proffer durable solutions, especially with the the challenges of the Covid:19 era.
Adebayo said that the coming awards is all about recognition and promotion of excellence, hard work and determination and will look forward to giving honour to whom it is due.
At the same time, the awards aim at creating a healthy competition among stakeholders, just as it aims at encouraging and supporting the production of affordable mass housing for Nigerians.
The Award will in line with an existing tradition recognize State governors who have distinguished themselves remarkably by making and executing housing friendly policies..
Public and private sector professionals will equally be honoured for creativity and innovations in the sector.
While the objective is not limited to ensuring that industry stakeholders always ensure due diligence, standard maintenance and sticking to professional ethics, the organizers stipulated that nominees must not have a history of short changing subscribers or developing properties with questionable standards.
Recall that The Federal Government social housing scheme, Family Homes Funds (FHF) clinched the ‘Housing Impact Intervention Award’ at the 2020 edition of the awards.
