The death has been announced of Chief Adewale Adesoji Adeeyo, OON
Adeeyo who until his death was the Chairman, Board of Directors of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) died today after a protracted illness which Africa housing news learnt
he had been battling for long.
Adeeyo was a very skillful writer, passionate journalist, and social critic. He was the publisher and chairman of The Anchor Newspaper.
The major cause of his death is still sketchy as of the time this report was filled in.
A press statement signed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FMBN, Dr Ahmed Dangiwa, regretted the loss…
The statement reads ” It is with a heavy heart and great sense of loss that I, on behalf of the board, management and staff of the bank announce the death of our Board Chairman, Dr Adewale Adeeyo, OON after a protracted illness.
We pray that God, in his infinite mercy will grant him eternal rest, and all of us, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
His death came as a shock to most of his friends and professional colleagues, many of who described him as a nice man.
A former member of FMBN Board of Directors, Mr Adedeji Adesemoye described Adeeyo’s demise as a big loss to Nigeria and the south west especially, and that he will be greatly missed on the board of FMBN.
He was born on the 27th of August, 1949. He was a communication expert, with over forty years of professional experience in journalism, public policy and entrepreneurship. Besides the Anchor Newspaper , he was also the publisher of Surulere Now Magazine.
