Ebonyi State Government is currently embracing the social housing scheme of the Federal Government.
It has provided 10 hectares of land for the scheme in Umuobuna, Uburu, Ohaozara local government area, Zone 12, Centenary city, and Abakaliki.
The federal government through the instrumentality of National Social Housing Programme (NSHP) is planning to build 300,000 affordable houses for low-income earners across the country.
The programme is a response to the health and economic challenges of COVID-19 pandemic.
Implementing it is Family Homes Funds that is catering mostly to Nigerians on low and middle income and creating jobs that will help stimulate the economy and sustain millions of households.
Family Homes has already developed habitable housing units across the country.
