The Nigerian Institute of Building has paid glowing tribute to the first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alh Lateef Jakande.
The president of the institute, Kunle Awobodu in a statement described the deceased as a governor of the masses whose novel approach to solving the problem of education and housing among several others remains commendable.
Awobodu noted that Jakande’s life was one worthy of emulation by all standards especially in public service.
“Pa Jakande bestrode the world like a colossus, leaving his footprint on the sands of time. He was an exemplary leader who touched many lives directly and indirectly”.
During Jakande’s active political participation, the president said, he played active roles in alleviating the suffering of the masses.
He commiserated with the entire Jakande family, and Nigerians at large over the great loss.
