The Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has signed additional 114 Certificates of Occupancy.
This is in addition to the 285 recently signed by the governor which spans from 2016 to date.
The Director General, state Bureau of Lands, Barrister Bolaji Edun made this known in a statement.
According to Edun, “applicants expecting their Certificates of Occupancy since 2016 can now happily go to the Bureau of Lands after the COVID-19 restrictions are finally lifted”.
In addition, Barrister Edun said Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has released a total sum of N50million for payments of compensation for the affected communities of Lafiagi, Edu Local government area of the state whose lands have been acquired for the BUA sugar plantation, 350 mega watts of electricity generation, ettanol and other allied products.
He said the payment of such compensation had since commenced while some other communities like Esun, Elumagba and Puta that are yet to be assessed preparatory for payment of compensation by the state government will be done as soon as the processes are completed.
