About 642 retirees in Abia State public service have been refunded their National Housing Fund (NHF) contributions between January and July 2019.
This was made known by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) Zonal Manager in Abia State, Mr. Chris Ibuzo during a meeting with the State’s Head of Service (HOS) Mr. Onyii Wamah in his office. He said that the visit was to express appreciation for the support and assistance the state gives the bank.
Ibuzo further said that FMBN still funds Rock City, Cedar and CBN Solar City Estates in Umuahia, the state capital, adding that the bank has introduced new windows called Rent-to-Own and Construction Finance, which are aimed at promoting home ownership.
In his remarks, Wamah urged the FMBN to give priority to the low-income workers and commended the bank for making up-to-date refunds of the NHF contributions to retired civil servants in the state.
