The former Minister of state for housing and minister of environment, Suleiman Hassan has commended the organizers of 13th Abuja International Housing Show for their contributions to the affordable housing project in Nigeria.
The former Minister who was speaking on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the 13th edition of the show said the Abuja International Housing Show has become a significant platform for all stakeholders in housing and construction to convene and reach unanimous decisions on how to favourably position the sector.
“The organisers have been committed to this goal over the years and the calibre of guests we have here today is a testament to that. I applaud them for bringing everyone on board, and confident that resolutions reached here will be a noteworthy milestone.
“A combination of factors including lands administration, insufficient data, unprofessional dealings, and funding have posed great barriers to the provision of mass affordable housing in Nigeria. It is my pleasure to see how stakeholders at this year’s show can agree on the most sustainable solutions to these age-long problems.
“As always, we look forward to seeing the latest ideas and innovations at the exhibition stands; not to forget the opportunity for stakeholders to network and take back important information that will lead to positive changes in Nigeria and Africa’s housing and construction industries,” he said.
