Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris has pledged to prioritize reducing the cost of living for Americans if elected in next week’s presidential election.
Speaking at a rally in Wisconsin on Thursday, Harris assured voters that her administration would implement policies aimed at enhancing the quality of life for ordinary citizens.
Addressing supporters, Harris stated, “On day one, my focus will be on a to-do list dedicated to you, the American people. And at the top of my list is bringing down your cost of living.”
Among the key policy areas highlighted by Harris were healthcare and reproductive rights. She emphasized her commitment to making healthcare accessible and affordable for all, describing it as a basic right, not a privilege.

“My plan will lower the cost of childcare, cut taxes for small businesses, and reduce healthcare costs,” she explained.
Harris also reiterated her strong stance on abortion rights, calling it “a fight for freedom” and the right for women to make decisions about their own bodies without government interference. “This is about the future and freedom, and the fundamental freedom of a woman to choose,” she said.
With Wisconsin identified as one of the pivotal swing states, both Democrats and Republicans are intensifying their campaigns in the state. The race remains competitive, as the state narrowly swung from Trump in 2016 to Biden in 2020.
The presidential election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
