The up-beat tempo in development of apartments along the Lekki-Epe corridors is apparently fuelling greater interest by investors and prospective homeowners, especially in the mixed development within the Lagos new town project in Lakowe, Lekki area.
The project, starting from the Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country estate all the way down to Adiva Plainfields and Townsville, promoted by Mixta Nigeria, a firm under the Mixta Africa, spans a land area of 308 hectares of land.
Upon completion, the district should house over 200,000 residents and house infrastructure such as good roads lasting decades, drainage, green living, natural elements, serenity and an exclusive lifestyle. The district is currently twice the size of Victoria Island and seeks to solve the problem of housing across varying class sectors in the state.
The premium luxury developments consist of Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Estate, Beechwood Park, Marula Park and Adiva Plainfields are connected to the 18-hole golf course and 14 natural, as well as man-made lakes.
Speaking to journalists during a tour of the developments last week, the firm’s Sales and Marketing Executive, Mr. Ben Chiedu, explained the facilities will improve the experience of homeowners, golf players and other on retreat, as the golf course is spread all across the estate.
“The estate is designed in such a way that no matter where you are, you will have a view of the golf course,” Chiedu said.
He added that the golf course already takes off 30 per cent of the entire space, noting that the general plan is that the real estate takes up only 25 per cent because its planned to retain as much greenery as possible, because the golf course alone sits on almost 100 hectares out of 308 hectares.
The estate comprises communities, the village, the enclave, which is the oldest community and an up coming community in Ule that is under construction for the elderly with two or three bedroom apartment for sale.
“We have plots of lands, we have sold hundreds of plots, however, we still have a lot more. So, there is no other estate in Lagos that is like Lakowe Lake Estate in terms of size, the ambience and the natural environment we have created. There is 24-hour power supply,” he said.
Chiedu noted that the estate actually have a power solution in partnership with the third party organisation, adding that they have an arrangement currently, looking into transitioning to gas to be their source of power, and they believe it would help drive down the cost of power and attract more people to the estate.
He also added that the estate has a very robust security architecture covering the entire land bank.
Chiedu also explained that there is an ambulance that takes anybody, who needs medical attention out of the estate to a nearby hospital, if more professional care needs to be administered to that person.
He noted that the interest on the estate is increasing to 10 to 20 per cent due to the Dangote refinery and new employees within the Lekki Deep Sea Port.
