There are many reasons to be happy about the International Builder’s ShowTM (IBS) of the NAHB’s coming back to Las Vegas this year. The fact that there is simply so much to do in the city is one of the main causes. Vegas offers a bewildering array of events and activities outside of the nightlife and gambling, so there is something for everyone. You might want to check out these five items while you’re in the city:
#1: Phenomenal Food
The food in Las Vegas is worth the trip alone. It’s right up there with eating your way through New York City. No matter what kind of cuisine you like, there is a 5-star restaurant serving up delicious meals at all hours of the day or night. Here are just a few of the restaurants that you might enjoy trying.
#2: Shows and Concerts
Las Vegas has a long history of famous entertainers and performers, and the tradition is alive and well today. If you want to catch a show during IBS, you’ll have a lot to choose from. There’s Adele’s Las Vegas residency, Cirque du Soleil performances almost every night, David Copperfield, Moulin Rouge, Blue Man Group, and more.
#3: The Neon Museum Las Vegas
What better place than the Neon Capital of the World to see one of the largest collections of neon signs? Hailed by Travel + Leisure as one of the top museums in the US, the Neon Museum has rescued over 250 iconic Vegas signs and has restored many of them to their former glory. Take a guided tour of the collection and learn about the history of neon signs in Las Vegas or take in their “Brilliant!” augmented reality light show to see the neon signs in a whole new way. Tickets sell quickly, so make sure to book in advance!
#4: Fremont Street
Second only to the Vegas Strip, Fremont Street is an historic place in Vegas to take in the sights with live entertainment, musicians and character models lining the street. You can even dine in a restaurant inside a shipping container and watch five shark species swim by you in a huge aquarium. You name it, you can probably do it with flair on Fremont Street.
#5: National Parks
The Hoover Dam is just a 40-minute drive away from downtown Las Vegas. Death Valley is only two hours away, as is the Grand Canyon. If you want to take a day trip away from the city before or after the show, there are lots of national parks within easy driving distance.
