The Awards is designed to celebrate excellence in Africa’s Housing and Construction industry recognizing those individuals and organizations who have been dedicated, hard-working, and contributing immensely to the innovation and development of the sector.

Speaking with journalists in his Abuja office recently, Affordable Housing Advocate in Africa, Festus Adebayo who is also the promote of the annual one of its kind Awards ceremony assured that this year’s edition of the Africa Housing Awards will be very colorful as it would be a gathering of the who is who in the Housing, Mortgage and Construction sector.
Adebayo stated that nomination and voting for the about 31 categories of awards up for grabs at the prestigious event on Thursday were independently collated with the use of enhanced innovative and technology-driven, voting and judging processes with due considering to the achievements of the concerned organisation and individuals in 2022.
This year, the Africa Housing Awards is also recognizing the star governors shining a light on access to affordable housing in Nigeria but winning and receiving the award for most friendly housing governor is the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON for constructing over 2,000 Housing units across the State, being the single largest housing intervention in the history of the state for over 40 years now, and for announcing a subsidy of 50 percent to all beneficiaries of the houses while presenting the 2023 budget to the State’s House of Assembly last month.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of this year’s ceremony is Surveyor Suleiman Hassan Zarma, Former Minister of State for Environment with Arc. Mike Onolememen, CON, Former Minister of Works as one of the Special Guest of Honour.
