Nigeria’s housing stakeholders have finalized plans to organize a welcome dinner for the new Federal Mortgage Bank Of Nigeria (FMBN) Managing Director, Hamman Madu.
Announcing this in Abuja, the Coordinator of the event, Festus Adebayo, who is the Executive Director of the Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN), said the programme is aimed at fostering an interaction with the new MD for the purpose of setting an agenda towards charting a course to a more sustainable FMBN.
“We the stakeholders in the housing and construction sector including Members of the Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria, Housing Development Advocacy Network, Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria, and other related bodies have unanimously agreed to host our brother, the recently appointed FMBN MD to felicitate and interact with him on ways to improve the delivery of affordable housing in Nigeria
“This has been a part of the methods we have been adopting in the recent time for most of the Chief Executives of government owned agencies as our own way of encouraging innovation and productivity.
“It has been a known fact that once a Chief Executive does not do well during his tenure, no one celebrates such an executive after his stay in office”, he said.
Recall that Madu was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on April 14, 2022 following the expiration of the former FMBN boss’ tenure, Ahmed Dangiwa, with the goal of repositioning the bank as a core banking institution with an expertise in mortgage finance.
He was the MD/CEO of Abbey Mortgage Bank Plc prior to his appointment and was also a member of Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria (MBAN), and Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN), promoting the development of affordable mortgage and housing in Nigeria.
The welcome dinner will be held on Thursday, the 23rd of June, 2022 in Abuja.
