New Delhi Building Fire:27 Dead, Owners Arrested.
After a building fire in New Delhi killed at least 27 people on Saturday, police arrested two people for breaking fire safety laws.
The building that was torn down was a factory for making security cameras.
Rescue workers tried all night to get people out of the burned-out four-story building near a train station in the western suburbs.
On Friday night, when the fire started, there were more than 75 people inside.
Eyewitnesses say that some people jumped out of windows to save themselves, and firefighters used ropes to break the windows and pull others to safety.
Authorities say that the fire began in an office on the first floor and spread quickly.
Two of the company’s owners were arrested as part of an investigation to find out if any safety rules were broken.
